Yoga Therapy Sessions

Yoga therapy can be defined as the "application of Yogic principles to a particular person with the objective of achieving a particular spiritual, psychological, or physiological goal".  Yoga Therapy sessions are crafted to meet the needs of the individual and focuses on adapting yoga practises to best serve each person.

Whereas a group yoga class can never be totally specific to one person's needs, there will often be a theme or focus but it's not designed to meet any one persons needs.  Yoga Therapy is a way of adapting yoga to meet us where we are and help create transformation.  We weave in to a session yogic tools and techniques that are designed to suit the person in front of us.

What to expect

Before you come for your first session you will be sent a short health questionnaire form to complete and return at least 48 hours before the first session, it will be a good starting point for when we meet.  We will explore what you would like to address and then together we will develop a yoga practise based on your needs. You will have a chance to practise it in the session, and it will also be scribed for you so you have the notes from the session to use at home.  We can then modify and adapt your personalised practise as we move forwards together.

You don't need to have any prior experience of yoga to come for yoga therapy, you may have never done it before, or you have have done many group classes but feel yoga could offer something different to help you with a specific need or desire that you have.
